“star stuff”
ink and gouache on bristol
My piece for the Space show at Gallery 1988 West. The show opens July 22 and is curated by Mike Mitchell.
I am very grateful and proud to be in this show for a number of reasons. Mike Mitchell has been a long time friend and I was very surprised and honored that he asked me to partake in this show. Mike’s enthusiasm about space had a profound impact on my beliefs. For once, everything made sense. I knew what we are and where we came from. The stars. The universe is us and we are just expressing ourselves for the briefest of times. I am paraphrasing Eckhart Tolle here but you get the point. We are just a blip throughout the timeline of the universe. I am going to make the best of it while I can.
This one’s for you Mike. I owe ya.
Got my copy of Puffed Shoggoths in! Great work @trevrhenderson

Channeling some Sam Bosma
Another ink wash test. Gonna take a while to grasp this! I inked this on the wrong side of the water color paper which lead to some pretty shite line quality. Oh well!
Pretty pumped for the new Thor movie this fall, so I did a little warm up of everyone’s favorite Scandinavian.

arceuschrist asked: Hey dude, I'm a fan of your art for a while and I've been wondering what pens do you like to illustrate with in your sketchbook (like the Prison Pit ones) and also program do you prefer to work with when you do digital art?
I have been pretty keen on these Kuretake brush pens lately. They’re pretty much my all around inking tool now unless super fine details are needed. I also use Col-Erase non-photo blue pencils for layouts.

I use Photoshop CS3 for all digital works.
Thanks!
