When I was 9 or 10, HBO had one of those free trial weekends while my parents were out of town. Growing up in a Christian home, I was not allowed to watch rated R movies, but when I saw that Robocop was one of the movies that was one, I just HAD to see it! I mean, come on…he was a ROBOT COP for crying out loud!My 10 year old brain didn’t understand why he was killing all those people in that powdered sugar factory, but judging from the previews, this was a “must see film”.  So when my sister wasn’t paying attention, I slipped a VHS into the recorder and slyly pressed record.  And for 2 hours, I did my best to keep her from turning on the TV and ruining my plan to pop that rated R cherry. For years, that VHS hid under my mattress like some kind of porno, and as often as I dared, I snuck in a beautifully violent viewing of Robocop.  To this day, it still stands as one of the best films the 80’s had to offer, and I will never forget the excitement, fear, disgust and fun I had during that first secret viewing of Verhoeven’s masterpiece.

Absolutely brilliant! Follow Derek Hunter guys! He will make your eyes cry tears of ecstasy!
